राजस्थान के ख्यातनाम पर्वतारोही और जल संसाधन विभाग के अधिशाषी अभियंता नीरज चौधरी को निर्वाचन विभाग, राजस्थान का ‘स्टेट आइकॉन’ घोषित किया गया है। भारत निर्वाचन आयोग ने चौधरी को स्टेट आइकॉन घोषित करने के प्रस्ताव को स्वीकृति दे दी है। मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी नवीन महाजन ने गुरुवार को चौधरी को इस आशय का प्रमाण पत्र सौंपा।
महाजन ने बताया कि चौधरी निर्वाचन विभाग द्वारा संचालित की जाने वाले विभिन्न मतदाता जागरूकता गतिविधियों में स्टेट आइकॉन के रूप में भागीदारी करेंगे। वह विभाग द्वारा लोकतंत्र में सक्रिय भागीदारी और नेतृत्व की भूमिका निभाने के लिए नई पीढ़ी को आगे लाने के उद्देश्य की प्राप्ति में सहयोग करेंगे। इसके लिए विभिन्न शिक्षण संस्थानों सहित अन्य सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर आयोजित होने वाली जागरूकता गतिविधियों में शामिल होंगे।
मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने चौधरी को राज्य और देशभर के युवाओं के लिए प्रेरणा स्रोत बनने पर बधाई और शुभकामनाएं दी। उल्लेखनीय है कि विभाग ने नीरज चौधरी के अतिरिक्त अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के 7 खिलाडियों एवं एक सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता को स्टेट आइकॉन बनाया है। चौधरी ने इस पर मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी महाजन का आभार जताया और विभाग की जागरूकता गतिविधियों में पूरा सक्रिय सहयोग देने की प्रतिबद्धता जाहिर की।
