गृह राज्य मंत्री जवाहर सिंह बेढ़म ने मंगलवार को विधानसभा में कहा कि वर्तमान में जिला चित्तौड़गढ़ के उपखण्ड निम्बाहेड़ा में महिला पुलिस थाना खोलने का प्रस्ताव विचाराधीन नहीं है। गृह राज्य मंत्री प्रश्नकाल के दौरान सदस्य द्वारा इस संबंध में पूछे गए पूरक प्रश्नों का जवाब दे रहे थे। उन्होंने बताया कि महिला पुलिस थाना जिला स्तर पर खोला जाता है। इससे पहले विधायक श्रीचन्द कृपलानी के मूल प्रश्न के लिखित जवाब में गृह राज्य मंत्री ने कहा कि जिला चित्तौड़गढ़ में महिला पुलिस थाना सृजित किये जाने की स्वीकृति 05 जून 1999 को जारी की गई। जारी स्वीकृति के क्रम में महिला पुलिस थाना 11 अक्टूबर 1999 से संचालित किया गया।
