केन्द्र सरकार के निर्देशन में भारत रत्न अटल बिहारी वाजपेई की जन्म शताब्दी कार्यक्रम आयोजन की श्रंखला में वर्ष पर्यंत विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आयोजित किये जा रहे हैं। गुरूवार को राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गाँधी की पुण्यतिथि के अवसर पर महात्मा गांधी राजकीय विद्यालय गांधीनगर—2 में “भारत में सुशासन के बढ़ते अवसर” चित्रकला प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया। प्रतियोगिता में 15 राजकीय विद्यालयों के विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया। प्रथम श्रेणी में कक्षा दसवीं तक के तथा दूसरी श्रेणी में कक्षा 11वीं एवं 12वीं के विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया।
कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि अजय असवाल निदेशक, शांति एवं अहिंसा निदेशालय थे। कार्यक्रम में जगदीश मीणा, जिला शिक्षा अधिकारी, प्रारंभिक शिक्षा जयपुर, मधु रघुवंशी, उप निदेशक शांति एवं अहिंसा निदेशालय, अंजू रावत सहायक जिला शिक्षा अधिकारी, प्रारंभिक शिक्षा जयपुर सहित शांति एवं अहिंसा निदेशालय के कार्मिक तथा स्थानीय विद्यालय के शिक्षकगण भी उपस्थित थे। प्रतियोगिता में सम्मिलित होने वाले सभी प्रतिभागियों को निदेशालय की तरफ से प्रमाण पत्र का वितरण किया गया तथा दोनों श्रेणियां में प्रथम, द्वितीय एवं तृतीय स्थान पर आने वाले विजेताओं को प्रमाण पत्र एवं शील्ड देकर सम्मानित किया गया। मुख्य अतिथि अजय असवाल ने विद्यार्थियों को देश सेवा एवं देशभक्ति की भावना से ओतप्रोत रहकर अपना, परिवार, विद्यालय, समाज, राज्य एवं देश का नाम रोशन करने की सीख दी।
