कोटपूतली-बहरोड़ जिले में मौसम ने लगातार दूसरे दिन भी विद्युत निगम पर कहर बरपाया। शनिवार शाम करीब पौने बजे अचानक आए तेज अंधड़ ने पूरे क्षेत्र को हिला कर रख दिया। भीषण धूलभरी आंधी और तेज हवाओं के कारण न केवल जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया, बल्कि विद्युत तंत्र को भी भारी नुकसान पहुंचा तो वहीं छोटे-बड़े दर्जनों पेड़ भी गिर गए। कोटपूतली, विराटनगर, पावटा और नारेहड़ा जैसे क्षेत्रों में करीब 130 विद्युत पोल धराशायी हो गए तो वहीं 35 से अधिक ट्रांसफार्मर भी जमीन पर आ गिरे। बिजली आपूर्ति बाधित होने के चलते रविवार को जलापूर्ति व्यवस्था भी गंभीर रूप से प्रभावित होने की संभावना जताई जा रही है। ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में स्थित कई जलघर और मोटरें बिजली पर निर्भर हैं, ऐसे में रविवार को सुबह से ही पानी की समस्या शुरु हो सकती है।

तेज अंधड़ के बाद कोटपूतली शहर और इसके आसपास के दर्जनों गांवों में बिजली आपूर्ति पूरी तरह ठप हो गई। अंधड़ के बाद कई इलाकों में रातभर अंधेरा छाया रहा, जिससे लोगों को भीषण गर्मी में भारी असुविधा का सामना करना पड़ा। कूलर, पंखे और अन्य आवश्यक उपकरण बंद हो गए, जिससे बुजुर्गों और बच्चों को विशेष परेशानी हुई। इधर, विद्युत निगम की प्राथमिक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, इस तेज अंधड़ से करीब 60 लाख रुपए से अधिक का आर्थिक नुकसान हुआ है। हालांकि, यह एक प्रारंभिक अनुमान है और नुकसान की विस्तृत रिपोर्ट तैयार की जा रही है। अधिशासी अभियंता राजीव वीराणा ने बताया कि जिस प्रकार से लाइनें टूटी हैं और ट्रांसफार्मर क्षतिग्रस्त हुए हैं, उससे यह साफ है कि विद्युत तंत्र को इस आंधी ने व्यापक क्षति पहुंचाई है।
